Pumpkin Orange Shrimp (Neocaridina sp.)

The Pumpkin Orange shrimp is a vibrant, hardy freshwater shrimp that offers an attractive pop of color in any aquarium. These small but lively crustaceans are great for algae control and adding some brightness to a community tank.
Level of Difficulty: Beginner
Appearance: These shrimp are bright orange with a pumpkin-like hue and grow to about 1.5 inches in size.
Behavior: Peaceful and social, they do well in groups and are excellent scavengers.
Compatible Tankmates: Suitable for peaceful species like guppies, tetras, and small rasboras. Avoid larger, more aggressive fish that might harm them.
Husbandry: Maintain water temperature between 68–78°F, with a pH of 6.5–8.0 and hardness of 6–10 dGH. Ensure plenty of hiding spots and live plants to help them feel secure.
Diet: Omnivorous; feeds on algae, biofilm, and high-quality shrimp pellets.
