The male panther chameleon is a show-stopper with vivid, locale-dependent colors ranging from fiery reds and oranges to brilliant blues and greens. Their striking appearance and curious nature make them a favorite among chameleon enthusiasts.
Level of Difficulty: Intermediate to Advanced
Appearance: Males are larger, reaching 14–18 inches, with vivid color patterns that vary by locale, such as Nosy Be (blue) or Ambilobe (red/yellow/green).
Husbandry: Requires a tall, ventilated enclosure (minimum 24”x24”x48”) with branches for climbing and live plants for humidity. UVB lighting is essential for health, along with temperatures of 75–85°F and a basking spot of 90–95°F. Humidity should stay between 50–70%, maintained through misting 2–3 times daily.
Diet: Feeds on gut-loaded insects such as crickets, dubia roaches, and occasional treats like silkworms.
