European spiky isopods are larger than some other species, known for their unique appearance and hardy nature. They make great additions to bioactive tanks.
Level of Difficulty: Advanced
Appearance: They have a rugged, spiky appearance and grow up to 1.5 inches.
Behavior: Peaceful and social, they thrive in groups and help decompose organic matter in a terrarium.
Husbandry: Require plenty of cork and leaf litter.Provide a temperature range of 70–75°F and maintain high humidity (70–90%). Use decaying organic material for substrate.
Diet: Feed on decaying plant material, wood, and leaves. But can also be fed additional food if kept as pet, such as fish flakes, dried fish, Pangaea food and more. Also need calcium supplements such as cuttlebone, is necessary to ensure healthy exoskeleton growth.
