Dairy cow isopods are an attractive species with a pattern resembling dairy cow spots. These hardy isopods are great for bioactive setups and terrariums.

  • Level of Difficulty: Beginner
  • Appearance: Dairy cow isopods have a white and black spotted exoskeleton, growing to around 1 inch in size.
  • Behavior: Peaceful and social, they help break down organic matter in terrariums.
  • Husbandry: Require plenty of cork and leaf litter. Keep in a moist, well-ventilated terrarium with a temperature of 70–75°F. Humidity should be 70–90%.
  • Diet: They feed on decaying plant material, leaves, and wood. But can also be fed additional food if kept as pet, such as fish flakes, dried fish, Pangaea food and more. Also need calcium supplements such as cuttlebone, is necessary to ensure healthy exoskeleton growth.
